[9:04] Gillian Oh: Thanks
[9:04] You: There are usually a group of folk who arrive around 10 after
[9:04] You: so we have time yet

[9:05] You: yes, please :)
[9:05] Gillian Oh: While we are waiting, I will introduce myself.
[9:05] You: "Michigan"-time is ten after - campus joke
[9:05] Desideria Stockton: lol
[9:05] Gillian Oh: I'm Gillian Mayman- a public health librarian at the University of Michigan
[9:05] Solobill Laville: I'm a performance consultant and PhD student
[9:05] Desideria Stockton: It is great to meet you both
[9:06] You: I sent Desi exceprts from last week's chatlog
[9:06] You: so she would see the kinds of questions people had then
[9:06] Solobill Laville: Great, good idea
[9:06] You: If it is OK with everyone, I'd like to post today's chatlog
[9:07] You: to our wiki
[9:07] Solobill Laville: Desi, what's your background?
[9:07] Solobill Laville: Fine with me Lexi
[9:07] You: I sent the link to your blog, but didn't say much else

Barbie with Brains

[9:10] Gillian Oh: Do you study gender discourse in SL?
[9:10] Desideria Stockton blushes
[9:10] Solobill Laville: Great specializations! Gender and critical theory are so important!!
[9:10] Desideria Stockton: Yes, when I first came to SL, that is what I did here
[9:10] Desideria Stockton: that us why my avatar looks like Barbie
[9:10] Desideria Stockton: "Barbie with Brains"
[9:10] You: lol
[9:10] Solobill Laville: Brilliant!
[9:10] Desideria Stockton: I did 30 days under cover
[9:10] Desideria Stockton: journalings
[9:10] Desideria Stockton: using outfits that you can find for Barbie
[9:11] Desideria Stockton: and wearing them in different kinds of places and monitoring responses
[9:11] You: But today I see boots :) Barbie branches out
[9:11] Desideria Stockton: lol
[9:11] Solobill Laville: Did you do anything with that work yet?
[9:11] Desideria Stockton: well, I had a choice to make when the 30 days was over
[9:11] Desideria Stockton: I could either give up this avatar and return to one that looks like me
[9:11] Desideria Stockton: I did a presentation with it for a conference last summer
[9:12] Desideria Stockton: here, I will give you copy of it
[9:12] Solobill Laville: I'd love to see it
[9:12] Desideria Stockton: I hesitate to call it research
[9:12] Gyokuran Enzo accepted your inventory offer.
[9:12] Desideria Stockton: it was more of an exploratory period
[9:12] You: is this from SLBPE?
[9:12] Gillian Oh: I'd love a copy also
[9:12] You: make that three? :)
[9:12] Solobill Laville: thank you
[9:12] Desideria Stockton gave you Barbie with Brains Gift Box.
[9:13] You: Thank you!
[9:13] Desideria Stockton: this was from the ACHUB conference
[9:13] Solobill Laville: Can you spell out ACHUB for me?
[9:14] Desideria Stockton: let me see if I can remember the whole thing
[9:14] Solobill Laville: I'll google it
[9:15] Desideria Stockton: http://audiocourses.pbwiki.com/
[9:15] Gillian Oh: I'm sorry more people aren't here. I'm probably going to have to tune out at 12:30
[9:15] Desideria Stockton: well, since you were here before
[9:15] You: What is disappointing is that the people who asked for this specific discussion haven't come

Discussion - Desi on the Design of Dante's Inferno

[9:15] Desideria Stockton: do you have any specific questions that are most interesting to you?
[9:15] You: yet
[9:15] Desideria Stockton: in reading your chat, I was very impressed with the discussion
[9:16] Desideria Stockton: and we have made some changes based on your suggestions
[9:16] Gillian Oh: I actually don't- I'm just here to lurk for a bit
[9:16] You: Wonderful!

Communication Challenges and Solutions

[9:16] Desideria Stockton: some things, though are harder to do
[9:16] Desideria Stockton: for example
[9:16] You: I thought there was soem good stuff there, too
[9:16] Desideria Stockton: web on a prim is a great idea
[9:16] Desideria Stockton: but it means that we have to parcel the land each time we want web on a prim
[9:16] Desideria Stockton: AND it will be hard to read
[9:16] You: oh, no - I hadn't thought of that
[9:16] Desideria Stockton: and sadly, notecards or text chat are the only two other options we have
[9:17] Solobill Laville: hmm
[9:17] Desideria Stockton: text chat is hard bc new folks don't know how tro expand their chat window
[9:17] Desideria Stockton: and can't read it fast enough
[9:17] You: but the structure of the notecards could be ... altered or offered in a variety of formats
[9:17] Desideria Stockton: so, that is why we went for imbedded notecards
[9:17] You: and the design is specifically to support your students in a given class
[9:18] Desideria Stockton: I am not sure what you mean - can you give me an example
[9:18] You: Well, the idea from, I think Diva,
[9:18] Desideria Stockton: well, this IS a build for my students but it is open to the public
[9:18] Desideria Stockton: one of the things that we thought was interesting from your comments
[9:18] You: of offering another set of laonger notecards for folks new to Dante or teachers or other audiences
[9:18] Desideria Stockton: is that you didn't know that the full text is imbedded here
[9:18] Desideria Stockton: so, we are going to make it clearer on every level
[9:19] Desideria Stockton: ah, I see
[9:19] You: ah!
[9:19] Desideria Stockton: we actually do have that

Open Access / Open Source

[9:19] Desideria Stockton: the inferno is open access
[9:19] Desideria Stockton: which means anyone can have a copy of the whole thing
[9:19] Desideria Stockton: soup to nuts
[9:19] Desideria Stockton: and the notecards are all in there
[9:19] You: I'm not sure that is what they meant

Use a HUD?

[9:19] Desideria Stockton: I liked the idea of a HUD
[9:19] You: Yes - do you have a moddable one? I do
[9:20] Desideria Stockton: so, I have been thinking about how to do that
[9:20] Desideria Stockton: yes
[9:20] Desideria Stockton: i have a few :-)
[9:20] You: good :)
[9:20] Desideria Stockton: Eloise and I design different ones
[9:20] You: thought you would
[9:20] Desideria Stockton: like we wouldn't do a traditional one
[9:20] Desideria Stockton: we would do one where you would find a piece of the hud (like a puzzle) on each level
[9:20] Desideria Stockton: it would give you information
[9:20] Desideria Stockton: and then become part of the hid
[9:20] You: hid?
[9:20] Desideria Stockton: and at the end make a complete picture of dante
[9:21] You: neat!
[9:21] Desideria Stockton: sorry, I am a terrible typist
[9:21] Desideria Stockton: hud
[9:21] You: it is SL speak
[9:21] You: Welcome Bridget!
[9:21] Desideria Stockton: Hello Bridget!
[9:21] You: Desi is responding to some of our questions from last time
[9:21] You: Bridget is especially interested in this
[9:21] Bridget Jennings: hi -wired is having problems in my office right now
[9:22] You: Desi - do we have permission to repost this chatlog on our wiki?
[9:22] Desideria Stockton: we are always very happy for feedback
[9:22] Desideria Stockton: yes, of course :-)
[9:22] You: many thanks!
[9:22] Bridget Jennings: i think this a great application

About Student Audience & Background Text Accessibility

[9:22] Desideria Stockton: for example, my students are in a F2F class
[9:22] Desideria Stockton: and they had a link to the text we were using
[9:22] Desideria Stockton: but a few people mentioned that they wish the text was here
[9:22] Desideria Stockton: the full text
[9:23] Desideria Stockton: and we saw that echoed in your comments last week
[9:23] Desideria Stockton: so, we are working on a way to do that
[9:23] Desideria Stockton: in both English and latin
[9:23] You: wonderful!
[9:23] Solobill Laville: Latin is a great idea
[9:23] You: What about italian?
[9:23] Desideria Stockton: I don't have an Italian translation (yet) but that is a great idea
[9:24] You: That was where I first was reading it - in my Italian classes

Walk Through, Entry Level

[9:24] Desideria Stockton: lets walk through
[9:24] You: great!
[9:24] Desideria Stockton: and y'all can give me feedback :-)
[9:24] Solobill Laville: K
[9:24] Desideria Stockton: everyone starts here
[9:24] Desideria Stockton: this is the dark woods
[9:24] Desideria Stockton: and, if we ever get a full sim
[9:24] Desideria Stockton: (this is a void sim)
[9:24] Desideria Stockton: we would like to build purgatorio and paradiso above it
[9:25] Desideria Stockton: but, we would also be happy for 2 more voic sims
[9:25] You: goosebumps!
[9:25] You: I was praying for that
[9:25] Desideria Stockton: void sims have less prims
[9:25] Desideria Stockton: and you can't run as many scripts
[9:25] Desideria Stockton: so, that is one of the reasons why things re scripted the way they are
[9:25] You: interesting challenges
[9:25] Desideria Stockton: ok, lets go in :-)
[9:26] Desideria Stockton: feel free to be honest about what you like
[9:26] Desideria Stockton: and what you hate
[9:26] You: :)
[9:26] You: a novice audience
[9:26] Desideria Stockton: the gondlas and try this activity boards came from Lexi
[9:26] Desideria Stockton: s first round of suggestions

Dante, Virgil and the Alice Script

[9:26] You: I found Dante and Virgil confusing
[9:26] Desideria Stockton: well, they are talking rocks
[9:26] You: :)
[9:26] Desideria Stockton: lol
[9:26] Desideria Stockton: they use an Alice script
[9:27] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Hello Desideria. Have you heard my story?
[9:27] Solobill Laville: I couldn't get past the first message frmo them
[9:27] You: I don't understand what the conversation is supposed to be doing
[9:27] Desideria Stockton: No, I have not
[9:27] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: This is the vestibule, Desideria?
[9:27] Desideria Stockton: It is the vestibule
[9:27] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Why are they chasing that banner?
[9:27] You: ah - I get it
[9:27] You: it is just to have a conversation
[9:27] Virgil's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Hello Solobill. Are you here for the tour?
[9:27] Desideria Stockton: In the story, the people on this level must chase the banner because they refused to take sides between Heaven and Hell
[9:27] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Have you heard my story?
[9:27] You: I thought they would be giving directions or hints or telling me what to do next
[9:27] Desideria Stockton: maybe we need a sign here that explains the rocks
[9:27] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Should I go down this hill?
[9:28] Bridget Jennings: What's Alice? An SL script or an imprt?
[9:28] Gillian Oh: I also found the rocks very confusing
[9:28] Solobill Laville: Good idea for the first time
[9:28] Virgil's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Are you ready?
[9:28] You: artificial intelligence
[9:28] You: developed outworld but pretty common here now
[9:28] Desideria Stockton: I think signage is a great idea
[9:28] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Do you hear those cries?
[9:28] You: So the rocks are atmosphere, really
[9:28] Desideria Stockton: are you all able to hear and see the video
[9:28] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Have you heard my story?
[9:28] Virgil's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Bye Solobill, think about your choices.
[9:28] You: like ghosts
[9:28] Bridget Jennings: I glt that - but is it part of the standard build tools?
[9:29] Desideria Stockton: well, in class, students had to chat with them
[9:29] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Have you heard my story?
[9:29] Desideria Stockton: for a quiz
[9:29] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: This is the vestibule?
[9:29] Desideria Stockton: the Alice script is custom
[9:29] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Why are they chasing that banner?
[9:29] Desideria Stockton: but it is free
[9:29] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: well, in class, students had to chat with them.
[9:29] You: oh, that's tricky :)
[9:29] You: I like it
[9:29] Desideria Stockton: I can pass it to you
[9:29] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Does your soul ache for them?
[9:29] You: that would be great!
[9:29] You: I don't have a copy yet
[9:29] Desideria Stockton: why don't i do this
[9:29] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: This is the vestibule?
[9:29] You: and it is moddable of course
[9:29] Bridget Jennings: Thanks - where are the docs or tutorials?
[9:29] Desideria Stockton: I will create a box of things you all like
[9:29] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: In the story, the people on this level must chase the banner because they refused to take sides between Heaven and Hell.
[9:29] You: Oh, folks commented how much they love the music selections
[9:30] Desideria Stockton: scripts and such
[9:30] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: This is the vestibule?
[9:30] Desideria Stockton: and then when we get to the bottom, I will pass out the box
[9:30] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Have you heard my story?
[9:30] Bridget Jennings: great
[9:30] You: Desi is a wonderful generous person
[9:30] You: I have learned so much from her :)
[9:30] Solobill Laville: Sharing knowledge is not a common thing...thanks
[9:30] Dante's Rock on the Vestibule whispers: Bye Desideria, think about your choices.
[9:31] You: She taught me how to make my first giver box :)
[9:31] Dante Teachers Box whispers: Hello Solobill. What would you like to talk about?
[9:31] Desideria Stockton: ok, as we go along, I will fill this box :-)
[9:31] Dante Teachers Box whispers: Are you sure about that?
[9:32] You: Thank you, thank you :)

Content Inclusion, Ethics and Intellectual Property

[9:32] Desideria Stockton: One of things we really strive for is ethical treatment on content
[9:32] You: We did have a lot of fun with the gondolas
[9:32] Desideria Stockton: of
[9:32] Bridget Jennings: OK, I have both a 1 and 2 pm meeting, but I will stay as long as I can
[9:32] You: Meaning open source and intellectual property awareness
[9:32] Desideria Stockton: we find that a lot of builds in SL are not well documents

Color as Content, Accessibility

[9:32] Solobill Laville: Desi, have you thought about color-coding the different learning interactions by use type?
[9:33] Solobill Laville: Like a blue background on resources, etc.?
[9:33] Desideria Stockton: We hadn't, but I saw that in the notes, and thought is was a good idea
[9:33] You: or use font with color,
[9:33] You: in case folks are color blind
[9:33] Solobill Laville: sure
[9:33] Desideria Stockton: when we get over to the students side
[9:33] Desideria Stockton: we changed it up a bit
[9:33] Desideria Stockton: and that is a good suggestion
[9:33] Bridget Jennings: probably good - unless you have more that 4 different colors (that shjort term memory thing)
[9:33] You: :)
[9:34] Solobill Laville: 7, +/- 2...lol
[9:34] Desideria Stockton: one thig we struggled with is wideness
[9:34] Desideria Stockton: if we make the exhibts TOOO wide
[9:34] Desideria Stockton: people won't go to all the content
[9:34] You: yep
[9:34] Desideria Stockton: but, sometime I feel it is squished
[9:34] Desideria Stockton: sorry, i am a terrible typist
[9:34] Bridget Jennings: that chunking thing might help

Trends and Future Developments

[9:34] You: what about repeating it on the other side of the circle?
[9:34] Desideria Stockton: \well, you will see what is on the toher side
[9:34] You: I kind of ... long for something over there
[9:34] Desideria Stockton: it wasn't there last week when you were here :-)
[9:35] You: Oh - sorry - missed it then
[9:35] Solobill Laville: ooh, cool
[9:35] Desideria Stockton: student have been building all week
[9:35] You: :)
[9:35] You: Wow!
[9:35] Desideria Stockton: the read Gloria Naylor's Linden Hills
[9:35] Bridget Jennings: I some stuff on the far side (mostly ice cubes)
[9:35] Desideria Stockton: which is based on the inferno
[9:35] You: oh!
[9:35] Desideria Stockton: they have been building it up
[9:35] You: I saw that text added, and had no idea what it was
[9:35] Desideria Stockton: so, we will take a visit over there
[9:35] You: how funny :)
[9:35] You: 'Linden'
[9:35] Desideria Stockton: or ride
[9:35] Desideria Stockton: lol
[9:36] Desideria Stockton: the irony is hillarious
[9:36] You: what about adding the trademark?
[9:36] You: lol
[9:36] Desideria Stockton: that actually breaks copyright
[9:36] Desideria Stockton: and trademark
[9:36] Desideria Stockton: people who use the hand symbol are actually breaking the law :-)
[9:37] You: Oh, that wasn't what I meant
[9:37] Desideria Stockton: oh, lol
[9:37] You: I meant the reverse - I was being sarcastic
[9:37] Desideria Stockton: hehe
[9:37] Desideria Stockton: sorry, lol

Walk Through, Level One - Virtuous Pagans

[9:35] Desideria Stockton: lets walk down
[9:37] Desideria Stockton: one person has guessed the hymn
[9:37] You: I lost the music
[9:37] Desideria Stockton: but no one has donated pics for the slide viewer
[9:38] Desideria Stockton: you have to stand in here
[9:38] Desideria Stockton: this is the harrowing
[9:38] Desideria Stockton: and press your music button
[9:38] You: Desie, what kind of pics did you want for the slideviewer?
[9:38] Desideria Stockton: the challenge is to find people who might go on this level
[9:38] You: I had music before, but lost it when we came to this level
[9:38] Desideria Stockton: this is the level of virtous pagans
[9:39] You: Oh!
[9:39] Solobill Laville: I have it
[9:39] Desideria Stockton: good people that are not Christian
[9:39] Desideria Stockton: who is it?
[9:39] You: Yes can come up with those
[9:39] Solobill Laville: Uh....
[9:39] Solobill Laville: heh, dunno
[9:39] Desideria Stockton: the hope was that people would bring them in, so it is a "community build"
[9:39] Desideria Stockton: oops
[9:39] You: yes
[9:39] You: I still can't get the music - sorry
[9:39] Desideria Stockton: lol
[9:39] Solobill Laville: it's piano
[9:39] Desideria Stockton: Max Chatnoir got it
[9:40] Solobill Laville: sounds, hymnally
[9:40] You: Oh, Max - I love her :)
[9:40] Desideria Stockton: it is
[9:40] You: starting
[9:40] Desideria Stockton: since this is the part where Christ entered hell on Good Friday and release Adam, Eve, Abraham
[9:40] Bridget Jennings: The music is good (but fairly loud - easy to turn off))
[9:40] Desideria Stockton: etc
[9:40] Desideria Stockton: and there was an earthquake on earth
[9:40] You: alleluia!
[9:40] Desideria Stockton: where they said "Indeed, this is the Christ"
[9:40] You: I know the words
[9:40] You: sing this in choir
[9:41] Desideria Stockton: we are trying to figure out a way to make this stand out better
[9:41] Desideria Stockton: it is an important part of this layer
[9:41] You: perhaps a halo
[9:41] You: of light
[9:41] Desideria Stockton: and, probably one of the most important parts of the poem
[9:41] Solobill Laville: I'm a Buddhist Unitarian in RL, not so strong on the Christian music! lol
[9:41] Desideria Stockton: because it is a religious poem
[9:41] You: Hi, Eloise!!
[9:41] Eloise Pasteur: Hiya
[9:41] You: I keep seeing you places just as you are leaving, or you're busy :)
[9:41] Desideria Stockton: it is hard to remember that when so much of the rest of it is political
[9:41] Solobill Laville: Hi
[9:41] Desideria Stockton: lol
[9:42] Desideria Stockton: Hey Elo
[9:42] Eloise Pasteur: I'm always busy, lol
[9:42] Desideria Stockton: This is our Goddess of script
[9:42] You: too true :)
[9:42] You: She needs a tshirt that says that
[9:42] Eloise Pasteur: Keeps the bills paid though, lol

Discussion - Eloise Continues the Tour

[9:44] Desideria Stockton: as some of you know, I have a disabled son - I need to help him for a minute
[9:44] You: see you in a sec
[9:44] Desideria Stockton: Elo, can you continue the tour?
[9:44] Eloise Pasteur: Sure
[9:44] Desideria Stockton: they are going level by level and giving recommendations and suggestions
[9:44] You: Desi was just talking about how to make this place stand out more
[9:44] You: and I was thinking a halo of light
[9:45] Eloise Pasteur: That should be fairly easy to do, yes
[9:45] You: and would draw attention
[9:45] Bridget Jennings: Ok, being dumb - what do you want the user to do that are not doing right now?
[9:45] You: Desi was kind of walking through talking about some of the decisions that went into making the sapce the way tit is
[9:46] You: Always a good question, Bridget!
[9:46] Solobill Laville: That is a good question
[9:46] Bridget Jennings: I am SE/UI person
[9:46] You: me, too, with a focus on disabilities and aacccessibility
[9:46] Eloise Pasteur: Desi is actually getting most of the feedback, so I'm not sure what's on her list
[9:47] You: we sent her out iscussion from last week
[9:47] You: I will look for a copy for you
[9:47] Solobill Laville: From an instructional design perspective, I'd create terminal objectives for the learner on each level, and design to those
[9:47] You: She mentioned some of the scripting challenges
[9:47] You: that the sim won't support very many scripts
[9:48] Solobill Laville: nice
[9:48] Bridget Jennings: We call them use cases in my world
[9:48] Solobill Laville: exactly
[9:48] You: we only have a few more mintes
[9:48] Eloise Pasteur: Ok, a very quick and dirty halo
[9:48] You: :)
[9:48] Solobill Laville: I'd like to see what's on the "other side"
[9:49] You: would using particles eat into your "script" budget?
[9:49] Eloise Pasteur: The other side is being built by students
[9:49] Eloise Pasteur: It should be there by next week though
[9:49] Solobill Laville: ok
[9:49] You: we should keep moving
[9:49] Eloise Pasteur: And no, we use quite a few particles already
[9:49] You: we only have a few more minutes
[9:49] Eloise Pasteur: ok
[9:49] You: what would you like to show off, Elo?
[9:50] Eloise Pasteur: Let's just work down the circles... and see what comes up
[9:50] Eloise Pasteur: One of the things on my "to do" list is to have a quiz in Minos here for what circle of hell you should be on
[9:51] You: that sounds fun!
[9:51] Solobill Laville: Good idea
[9:51] You: quizilla here we come ...
[9:51] Eloise Pasteur: lol
[9:51] Eloise Pasteur: Yet another custom quiz script :-)
[9:51] You: yacqs
[9:52] You: or just YAQS
[9:52] You: ;)
[9:52] Eloise Pasteur: :-)

Walk Through, Level Two - Lust

[9:52] You: so this is lustful
[9:52] You: hmmm
[9:52] Eloise Pasteur: Adding an extra "what have you learnt?" thing would be an idea - I'm just worried it's approaching death by notecard?
[9:52] You: there are these lava pits all over
[9:53] You: that would be interesting for the class
[9:53] You: but could be overwhelming for the public
[9:53] Solobill Laville: there a good bit of notecards indeed...
[9:53] You: would have to restrict it toto a group?
[9:53] You: Max Chatnoir has notecard boxes
[9:53] Eloise Pasteur: Maybe...
[9:53] Eloise Pasteur: So have we
[9:53] You: yes
[9:53] Eloise Pasteur: There's that balance too...
[9:53] You: it is all wht questions are asked
[9:53] Eloise Pasteur: if we do it with a class, we have a teacher here who is asking the questions
[9:54] Eloise Pasteur: In fact, when the class were building LH on Monday we had some tourists too...
[9:54] Solobill Laville: Don't consider me base, but how about a more "lustful" painting, something period appropriate perhaps??
[9:54] Solobill Laville: Lovers?
[9:54] Eloise Pasteur: Who were getting spammed with messages to the region
[9:54] You: oh no
[9:54] You: I did find that some of the icecubes gave me ... I think 30 copies of a bench?
[9:55] Solobill Laville: PG of course!
[9:55] Eloise Pasteur: Until the tourists arrived it was a good way to catch the whole class...
[9:55] You: 10 of a fountain?
[9:55] Eloise Pasteur: Ah
[9:55] Eloise Pasteur: I've updated one, and the others are on my list of jobs
[9:55] You: the icecubes are BRILLIANT!
[9:55] You: We just love those
[9:55] Eloise Pasteur: The person who set out the icecubes was using a script she'd picked up somewhere
[9:55] You: I found a snowball, but couldn't copy it
[9:56] Eloise Pasteur: And it's a dodgy one, sadly
[9:56] You: :)
[9:56] Eloise Pasteur: I wonder if we should do a picture wall on each level...
[9:56] You: they are hard to find
[9:56] You: we found a total of 3 or 4 among our entire group
[9:56] Eloise Pasteur: let you add pictures of sinners, or sins
[9:56] You: Solobill found 2
[9:56] You: I liek that
[9:56] Eloise Pasteur: and cycle them through
[9:56] You: but you could get folks adding ... inappropriate material
[9:56] You: and advertisements
[9:57] Eloise Pasteur: We're an M sim
[9:57] Eloise Pasteur: so "adult" is ok
[9:57] You: yes, that's ok then
[9:57] You: I expect sometimes someone would want to clean up
[9:57] Eloise Pasteur: and I'm prepared to chuck bad textures out when I catch them
[9:57] You: :)
[9:57] Eloise Pasteur: We're here most days after all, it's not that hard to do
[9:57] You: I like it
[9:58] You: I did not understand that folks could or should add pics
[9:58] You: so I am going off to look for soem virtuous pagan pics :)
[9:58] Eloise Pasteur: They did in the old inferno
[9:58] Eloise Pasteur: they actually gave suggestions and we added the pictures
[9:58] You: I find it fascinating how quickly and flexibly this is growing
[9:59] Eloise Pasteur: But something to make it faster... just directly add the pictures is pretty easy
[9:59] Eloise Pasteur: with a warning that they might be removed if they're not relevant
[9:59] You: that is all one of the tools for engagement
[9:59] You: Are there other decisions that were made specifically to engage people with the build?
[10:00] You: and to encourage self-diected learning?
[10:00] Solobill Laville: Hey, all, I have a 1:00 meeting here - thanks everyone!!
[10:00] Eloise Pasteur: They all are to some extent...
[10:00] You: Thank you for coming, Solobill!
[10:00] Eloise Pasteur: Thanks for you time Solobill
[10:00] You: what floats to the top?
[10:00] Eloise Pasteur: In terms of new things...
[10:00] Eloise Pasteur: the chance to chat to Virgil and Dante is new
[10:01] You: Yes - that is really interesting, now that Desi explained it to us
[10:01] Eloise Pasteur: and they point to things that are relevant to the circle
[10:01] Eloise Pasteur: Maybe I should update the greeter card to mention them?
[10:01] Eloise Pasteur: We've overhauled a lot of the other content, but the core ideas aren't new...
[10:01] You: What was happening was that we thought they were something we had to do coming in to get clues to what we should do next - part of a puzzle
[10:01] Eloise Pasteur: Touch this, get a card...
[10:02] You: but they weren't, necessarily
[10:02] Eloise Pasteur: Ah
[10:02] You: so we got sidetracked there
[10:02] Eloise Pasteur: Neither Desi nor I are that prescriptive about SDL
[10:02] You: :)
[10:02] Eloise Pasteur: If you choose to hop up and down levels at random, that's fine...
[10:02] Eloise Pasteur: Speaking personally it makes sense to me to work down one at a time
[10:03] Eloise Pasteur: but, I've seen people hopping around levels
[10:03] You: That is what I usually do
[10:03] Bridget Jennings: I like hiw thuis is evolving (and I don't know the RL storyline details very well)
[10:04] Eloise Pasteur: I guess the other things we want...
[10:04] Bridget Jennings: Lexi, will you be able to transmit Desi
[10:04] You: I used to have a sign over my basement entrance based on the inferno :)
[10:04] Bridget Jennings: box to use sometime
[10:04] Eloise Pasteur: Do you leave here feeling you know more about the story?
[10:04] You: What do you mean, Bridget?
[10:04] Bridget Jennings: yes
[10:04] Eloise Pasteur: And do you leave here feeling you can find out still more if you want?
[10:04] Bridget Jennings: Desi had offered a box ot scripts at the end of the tour
[10:05] You: Yes - I can get that when she returns
[10:05] You: Desi and I send stuff back and forth sometimes
[10:05] You: although not as much as we used to :)
[10:05] You: But Elo is the Goddess of scription
[10:05] Bridget Jennings: I assumed her RL needs were more pressing than she thought
[10:05] You: Bridget teaches computer science
[10:05] Eloise Pasteur: Probably
[10:05] You: and distance ed
[10:05] Bridget Jennings: and game design
[10:06] You: :)
[10:06] You: so cool
