Wolverine Island is the Second Life home for the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. It is located at:

Access to Wolverine Island is currently restricted to members of the University of Michigan community, including students, staff, faculty, alumni, and guests.

To have access to Wolverine Island you must belong to the group Wolverine-Community. To join Wolverine-Community you must be invited. To request an invitation contact Perplexity Peccable or Memetic Projects. The best way is to send us a notecard with the following information:

• Your avatar name
• Your UM uniqname
• Your UM affiliation (faculty, staff, student, alumni)

1) By E-Mail

Send an email to Patricia F. Anderson or Marc Stephens. Find the email address in the University of Michigan Online Directory.

2) In Second Life

Request an invitation by creating a notecard titled "Request to Join Wolverine-Community." In the notecard include your avatar name, University of Michigan affiliation, University of Michigan email address. Give a copy of the notecard to either Memetic Projects or Perplexity Peccable.

To give a notecard to another avatar
- Search for the avatar name using the Search button at the bottom of the browser.
- Open the avatar's profile.
- Drag a copy of the notecard from your inventory to the Inventory slot (located in the profile window at the bottom, above the blue buttons).



NOTE: If you are not currently affiliated with the University of Michigan it may be possible to get access through being invited to the group Wolverine-Guests, which requires more complete information about your RL contact information and the purpose of your visit.
